Yes, always. This is one of the main benefits of using nudges versus automatically sweeping via standing orders or direct debits. No money transfers unless you authorise it.
One of the big issues with cashflow planning and reserving is that it is typical for business finances to change month-to-month. Trying to work out exactly what needs to be reserved in advance is often impossible.
However, it is also true that forgetting to reserve is just as easy. This can lead to increasing risk (i.e. not reserving enough) and confusion, as we're not quite sure whether the balance in the business current account can be spent or not.
Nudges allow you to specify
- When it would be a good time to reserve (e.g. every month), and
- The amount to be reserved (e.g. assuming all receipts into the current account are sales subject to 20% VAT, and suggest I reserve the equivalent VAT amount)
You will be notified with a me2me transfer link, that allows you to act, edit or ignore this month. If you choose to transfer it takes seconds with a few taps on your phone. If you want to ignore, no problem, you'll get notified next time.
Plus, if you need to update the nudge conditions, no worries, just edit the nudge.
You are always in control.
